Rose Moody Blues belongs to hybrid tea varieties and is one of the brightest representatives. What is so interesting about this variety, why it is so popular among flower growers in different countries of the world - it is worth understanding this issue.

The history of the creation of the Moody Blues variety

Although the first variety of hybrid tea rose was bred in the middle of the 19th century and since then many breeders have been breeding just such flowers, such roses were singled out into a separate group only in the third quarter of the last century. The main advantage of hybrid tea varieties is continuous flowering throughout the summer season, so such roses are in constant demand among flower growers.

One of the most famous nurseries engaged in the breeding and breeding of roses is the English family company Flyer Rs Rjses. It was created at the beginning of the last century and currently has more than 190 bred varieties of roses on its account. Many of the varieties of flowers bred by the nursery received diplomas and prizes at prestigious exhibitions in different countries.

Note! Most of these roses have been purchased by Ecuadorian florists, who also breed the "queen of flowers" for sale.

It was in this nursery that the Modi Blue rose was bred, which is famous for the original color of the buds, high resistance to cold and rainy seasons.

Characteristics and features

Modi Blues rose - its description does not differ mainly from the description of other varieties of these flowering perennials. The bushes of Modi Blue roses are compact - the diameter of each does not exceed 0.5-0.6 m. Erect, powerful shoots can reach 1.0-1.2 m in height, the color of the foliage is rich emerald. The foliage mainly grows at the base of the shoots.

The unusual color of the buds is not very typical for most varieties of roses - the petals of the blossoming buds are lilac-blue, and a strip of purple runs along their edges. Dissolving, the color of the flowers changes to lilac with a silvery tint. The diameter of the blossoming buds is about 12 cm. Each of the flowers can have up to 25 petals.

On one shoot, up to three buds can bloom with a pleasant smell, the intensity of which can vary depending on weather conditions.

The first buds appear on the buds in the first decade of June, and the last ones fade in early November. Flowering is repeated.

Agricultural technology for cultivating varieties

The basic rules for planting seedlings of this variety do not differ from similar measures for planting other varieties of the "queen of flowers". A place for planting flowers is being prepared in advance, planting holes are dug at a distance of 0.8-0.9 m from each other. The site should be sunny, protected from cold winds.

After disembarkation, further care for these perennials is standard:

  • compliance with the irrigation regime;
  • loosening;
  • mulching;
  • fertilization;
  • pruning.
