Many novice growers grow only standard varieties of roses - spray roses, but there is another interesting and beautiful group of these flowering perennials - climbing roses. These perennials can be grown in most regions of Russia, as they are highly resistant to frost, and besides, they are easier to cover for the winter, because the stems practically spread on the ground.
Rose Caesar is one of the most beautiful representatives of this group of roses. This variety will be discussed in this article.
The history of the creation of the Caesar variety
The nursery in which this variety was bred is known all over the world - it is the French rosology firm Meilland, which was created in the 19th century. Among the cultivated varieties of roses that were presented by the specialists of this company, there are hybrid tea, Floribunda, standard roses, but there is also a group of climbing roses that actively grow not upwards, but to the sides.
The climbing rose Caesar was bred in 1993, and after 6 years it won a silver medal at the world competition, which takes place in Belgium (Kortrijk). Since that time, rose Caesar began its triumphant march through European countries.
Characteristics and description of the variety
Description of Cesar (Caesar) roses should start with a story about blossoming flowers. When buds appear on the shoots, their color is two-colored - the outer petals are usually light green in color, and the inner ones are pale pink with a cream tint. Fully opening, this flower becomes densely doubled, with the inner petals becoming bright pink, and the outer ones pale pink. The edges of the petals are wavy. On one shoot, from 2 to 4 pieces can appear. buds.

The original shape of the bushes goes well with the color of the foliage - dark emerald, and the veins are reddish.
The active growth of the vegetative mass coincides with abundant flowering and begins in the first decade of July. Young shoots grow quickly, and woody by autumn. This climbing rose can bloom almost until the very frost.
These perennials practically do not get sick, but sometimes they are attacked by aphids.
Agrotechnics
It is advisable to prepare a plot for planting in advance, manure is introduced for autumn digging, and complex mineral fertilizers in spring. The soil should be loose, moisture permeable well.
Since this variety is quite resistant to frost, for the winter it is usually only covered with special agrofibre.
Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
Rose Caesar has several advantages over other varieties:
- active growth of new shoots;
- beautiful long flowering from mid-summer to cold weather;
- practically not susceptible to diseases.
There are practically no disadvantages of this variety.
This perennial is also used for cutting.
