A compost pit is an indispensable attribute of any summer cottage. Depending on the size of the site, such a pit can be very large or very tiny. In any case, this is the part of the dacha that is not the best decoration, so they try to hide it. Here are some ways to hide the compost pit from your own and others' eyes:

Living fence

Used mainly for large areas. The purpose of a hedge is usually to hide the entire compost area around the perimeter. It is installed in such a way that it is convenient to work with compost, that is, with a small margin of room for maneuvers. Such fences also perform a decorative function, decorating the summer cottage itself.

Trellises or fences with climbing plants

This camouflage method is suitable for both large pits and small ones. The grate can be metal or wood, or it can be a small fence. It is important that such a fence is a continuation of the hedge already available in the country and does not look alien. Various vines or wild grapes are suitable as climbing plants. For a very small pit, you can install a beautiful gate and decorate it with bindweed or flowers in pots.

Bushes or flower garden

They fit very organically into the landscape and hide a small pit. They can be fruit, for example, currants, gooseberries, or decorative. Different flower beds can be installed around the perimeter. Due to their density, they will create the impression that there is nothing behind them. These can be ordinary green spaces, or a variety of decorative flower beds with stone trim. Also, a small hole will be well disguised by flower pots displayed in a row, or the same pots hung at different heights with a decorative fence.

Alcove

A decorative gazebo is well suited for camouflage, it will hide everything that looks bad from the eyes and at the same time will play the role of an additional place to relax. The gazebo should be located at a distance from the pit to avoid unpleasant consequences.

Decorative shelter

If the summer resident does not really want to create complex structures for covering the compost pit, then you can use the simplest way - to cover the pit with something. For example, you can cover it with an old carpet over the film, buy an unusual film with a pattern to match the color of the lawn or any other print.
