The Aleshenkin grape belongs to the dessert varieties. It was bred more than 60 years ago by the agronomist P.E.Tsekhmistrenko in the Moscow region. The crop was obtained by pollination of a mixture of Madeleine Angevin grapes.

Description of the grape variety Aleshenkin

It has absorbed the best characteristics of the parent varieties, thanks to which it has become extremely popular. Subject to all the rules of planting and leaving one bush, it is possible to collect up to 25 kg of berries. The plant has a medium ripening period and excellent frost resistance, with the exception of the lower part of the plant.

Important! The ground part can withstand temperatures down to -26 degrees.

The variety is grown throughout Russia, all the way to the Urals.

The first crop is harvested by growers, as a rule, after 118 days from the moment the buds appear and until fully ripe. Excellent taste allows the use of berries in various industries. The Aleshenkin grape variety (Aleshkin, Aleshechkin grapes) is one of the high-yielding grapes, but in order to obtain high fertility, all the rules for cultivation and care must be strictly observed.

Nice name - cute to look at

Consider more detailed characteristic features of the variety:

  • The lifespan of each branch can vary from 4 to 6 years.
  • Varietal culture refers to tall shrubs with medium-sized emerald leaves that have 5 lobes.
  • After planting, the cuttings take root fairly quickly.
  • The leaves are characterized by a glossy and smooth surface.
  • Bisexual flowers are formed on each shoot, so the formation of fertile buds occurs annually.
  • The vast majority of berries do not have seeds inside.
  • The bunches are large and conical in shape, the average weight can vary from 800 g to 2.5 kg.
  • The sugar content of the variety does not exceed 20%, and the acidity varies within 3-5 g / l.

Important:Bunches of grapes are prone to peas. Therefore, they must be processed in a timely manner using various growth stimulants.

Description of fruits

Aleshenka grapes are dessert grapes, they are characterized by excellent taste. Each berry has the following characteristics:

  • The grape berries do not touch tightly, which provides access to the sun's rays.
  • The berries are oval in shape, with an average size of 21 x 25 mm.
  • The average weight of each berry is 5 g.
  • The berry has a skin of medium thickness, the pulp is juicy, aromatic and sweet.

Note:Aleshin grapes are excellent for long-distance transportation.

Aleshenka grapes: planting and care

In order for the Aleshechkin grape harvest to please with excellent taste and abundant fruiting, all recommendations for cultivation and care must be strictly observed:

  • The main features of Aleshinsky grapes are rapid / fast growth and an excellent level of rooting. But the part located above the ground does not tolerate low temperatures well. Therefore, it is recommended to inoculate varieties that have excellent frost resistance. If you neglect this rule, the likelihood of losing the plant after the first wintering increases.
  • It is recommended to plant Aleshechkin grapes in the spring, immediately after the end of frost. It is advisable to do this because of the threat of frost. The finished seedling must be planted in open soil with the ground, where it began to develop.A pit is preliminarily prepared, where after the earth is transferred along with the plant. The pit is enriched with peat and watered abundantly. The first 3-4 days after planting, the seedling must be watered abundantly, then gradually replaced with moderate watering.
  • The description of the Aleshkinsky grape variety confirms the unpretentiousness of cultivation, even if the entire summer period was rainy and cool. At the end of July, you can already harvest the first ripe crop. With the onset of cold weather, the aboveground part of the culture should be covered, even if the plant is grafted into frost-resistant varieties.
  • Once a year, it is necessary to prune shoots that bear little fruit and develop poorly. Thanks to this manipulation, it will be possible not only to preserve the health of the bush, but also to provide itself with a rich high-quality harvest.

One bush has 50 eyes. Pruning for the Alyosha grape variety is possible in two ways:

  • long cut - 8-10 eyes;
  • medium pruning - no more than 5-6 eyes.

No less important components of quality care are timely and regular feeding of the crop, preventive measures aimed at preventing the development of diseases. Various pathogenic / pathogenic microorganisms are capable of causing irreparable damage to the health of the plant, therefore it is necessary to regularly treat it with special disinfectants. The variety is characterized by an average resistance to diseases and pests.

To fertilize the soil, it is recommended to use liquid fertilizers, since the soil easily assimilates the constituent substances. Each gardener chooses the enrichment method for himself independently, distinguishing between foliar and root.

To plant a plant, preference should be given to warm and bright places. It is unpretentious, but simple rules must be followed to increase yield indicators. Before planting, you need to analyze the soil. If there is a lot of clay in the composition, additional drainage must be used. If the soil is peaty, it is recommended to add sand before planting. Compost or humus is added to sandy soil.

Note!It is better to refrain from planting Aleshenka grapes in swampy areas or salt marshes.

The variety is suitable for growing in greenhouse conditions. Aleshechkin grapes must be provided with the sun, therefore, film is used to build a greenhouse. Excess moisture is detrimental to grapes.

If the cuttings are planted in rows, the gap between them should be at least 2 meters. Between the cuttings - 1.5 meters.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

Summing up, I would like to note the main advantages and disadvantages of the variety. Aleshechkin grapes took the best qualities from their "parents":

  • Abundant fruiting, the ability to get early and rich harvests.
  • Excellent taste, distinctive flesh - crispy.
  • The berries contain a small amount of seeds.
  • The cuttings root quickly, and the shoots ripen. Because of these features, the variety can be grown in any region of Russia, with the exception of the northern regions.
  • Early ripening of berries, despite unfavorable climatic conditions.

Despite the large number of advantages, the variety also has disadvantages:

  • The underground part of the plant has poor frost resistance.
  • Brushes are prone to polka dots. To prevent this phenomenon, it is recommended that the crop be treated with growth stimulants or manually pollinated.
  • Poor resistance to disease and pathogenic microorganisms.

Alyosha grapes are capable of producing stable and abundant yields for 20 years. After this time, the yield begins to fall. As a rule, the bushes are uprooted and after a few years new seedlings are planted to replace them.
