Ultra-ripe tomato varieties are becoming more and more popular among summer residents - the prospect of getting ripe tomatoes 2 months after the first sprouts appear is encouraging. Especially the cultivation of such early vegetable crops is advisable in the Urals, Siberia, the Moscow region and regions with a similar climate, where summer is short, and in spring the probability of frost often persists until the last decade of May.

The ultra-early ripening tomato, despite its "youth" (it was bred in the early 2000s), has already gained extraordinary popularity among vegetable growers.

Characteristics and description of the tomato variety Ultra early

These ultra-early ripening tomatoes were bred in our country by breeders from Siberia at the beginning of this millennium and were immediately included in the State Register. It is possible to grow Ultra-early ripening tomatoes in any regions of our country in greenhouses and open ground.

Tomato Ultra early

From the time the first shoots appear, a little more than 2 months pass before the ripe fruits are harvested, so the variety is considered early ripening. It belongs to the determinant species, it is not a hybrid. Bushes - standard, undersized, can grow in height up to 0.6 m. Fruits are round, the mass of a ripe fruit can reach 100 g.

Flowers are formed in clusters, each of which may contain 6-8 ovaries. Tomato peel is dense, deep red. The pulp is quite dense, the taste is excellent. The yield of this tomato is high, up to 14-14.5 kg of ripe tomatoes can be harvested from one m2. Ripe fruits are versatile, they can be eaten fresh, preserved, and the skin is not prone to cracking during heat treatment.

Note! Ripe fruits make excellent tomato juice.

The harvested crop tolerates long-distance transportation, without losing either its presentation or taste.

Harvest

Often this vegetable is confused with Tomato Greenhouse Ultra-early ripening f1. But these are completely different varieties - Ultra early ripening is not hybrid, so its seeds can be harvested for subsequent cultivation, and the second species is a hybrid. Another species with a similar name is the Moscow Ultra-early-ripening tomato, the characteristic and description of the variety is different, it is zoned for another region.

On a note. The Ultra-early-ripening tomato is highly resistant to major diseases, in particular to late blight.

The nuances of growing and care

You can plant the seeds of these vegetables both in open ground and in seedlings. Since the bushes of this vegetable plant are compact and undersized, there is a place for them in any garden.

Planting seeds for seedlings should be 20-25 days before transplanting to a permanent place. Growing seedlings of this variety is no different from growing other varieties of tomatoes. Seedlings should be transplanted into open ground at the end of May, and they can be planted in a greenhouse in the second decade of May.

Important! You should choose a place for the beds on which this vegetable will grow on a sunny, protected from strong winds section of the garden.

In the shade, the bushes will also bear fruit well, but the harvest will ripen longer.

Growing and care

Further care consists in regular watering, loosening the soil, removing weeds and making regular fertilizing. Tomato bushes should be watered every 2-3 days, you need to make sure that the top layer of the soil does not dry out. In hot weather, the number of waterings is increased, and in rainy weather, it is reduced.

Important! After watering, you need to mulch the soil to prevent it from drying out.

Top dressing is applied several times per season: after transplanting seedlings into open ground, during flowering and during the ripening period. Usually, the application of organic matter and mineral fertilizers alternates.

On a note. These vegetables respond well to fertilization - more ovaries are formed, the fruits ripen faster. Only after the beginning of flowering is it necessary to significantly reduce the amount of nitrogen fertilizers.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

The main advantages of these tomatoes are:

  • early maturity;
  • good presentation and taste of ripe fruits;
  • high resistance to most diseases;
  • do not need tying;
  • yield.

This variety has no drawbacks. With the right plot ready and basic care provided, you can count on a great harvest.
