Tomato Tourmaline is one of the few mid-season determinant pink-fruited varieties. The fruits, which have an extraordinary color, also have excellent taste.

Description of tomatoes Tourmaline

The variety is resistant to adverse weather conditions: coolness, rain. Good for outdoor cultivation. When planting in greenhouse-greenhouse conditions, regular ventilation is necessary.

The bushes usually grow no more than 1 m, and subsequently, after the formation of tomatoes on 5-6 clusters, they themselves bend. A bush formed in 2-3 trunks will bear fruit much longer than a single-stemmed one (for a couple of months).

Tomato Tourmaline

Small tomatoes, about 170 g.

Note! A larger crop can be harvested from the first brushes - on them tomatoes ripen up to 220 g.

Tourmaline tomatoes bear fruit abundantly. During the season, it is possible to get up to 5 kg of a selected crop from one bush. One of the secrets of high yields is the resistance of the variety to the dangerous disease of vegetable crops - late blight.

Tourmaline tomatoes have a flattened-rounded shape with a smooth and even skin, slightly ribbed at the base. The color is pink-glossy, with a shade of raspberry. The peculiarity of the fruits of this variety is a dark green spot at the stalk of an unripe tomato. With maturation, it dissolves.

Note! Tomatoes of this type are almost all as a selection - the same weight and size.

On the brushes, up to 8 flowers are formed, of which almost all form fruits. In too hot weather, from + 35C and above, not all flowers are pollinated due to pollen sterilization. It is for this reason that it will be favorable to plant the variety on open soils, and not in greenhouse and greenhouse conditions.

Bloom

The pulp is fleshy-dense, sugar, with a pinkish tinge and sweetish taste. When grown in cool regions, the palatability changes slightly: the fruits acquire a sour taste.

The Tourmaline variety is widely used in cooking. Prepare from it:

  • all kinds of salads;
  • gourmet snacks;
  • sandwiches;
  • slicing;
  • various sauces;
  • juices;
  • mashed potatoes;
  • lecho.

This species is not particularly suitable for conservation when ripe. It is better to choose slightly unripe fruits. In the process of conservation, they will not burst and lose their presentation.

Preservation of tomatoes

During thermal processing, the pulp of tomatoes turns into a rich bright scarlet color, tomatoes acquire an amazing taste. As a result, the dishes have an exquisite look and piquant taste.

Agronomic characteristics

To obtain a bountiful harvest, it is recommended to plant seeds for growing high-quality seedlings in early March, following the instructions:

  • Boxes with sown seeds must be covered with foil and removed to a warm place with an air temperature of at least + 25C. It is with this temperature regime that all seeds will sprout on time and in full. Following all the recommendations, the first shoots can be seen within 2 weeks.
  • When two-leaved sprouts appear, a pick is made in glasses.
  • 60 days after sowing the seeds, the seedlings can be planted in a summer cottage.
  • After planting seedlings, it is necessary to water them abundantly with diluted complex fertilizers for full growth.

Tomato variety Tourmaline, according to the characteristics and description, allows you to get a good harvest even in moderately cool regions. You just need to select high-quality planting material and properly care for the plants.
