Growing methods

The Bogatyr tomato can be grown in greenhouse conditions and in the open field, but it is recommended to plant seedlings. Planting recommendations:

  • Sowing in early March.

  • The soil can be purchased at specialty stores or prepared from humus and turf.
  • Having filled the box with soil, it must be lightly tamped, moistened abundantly and grooves made for sowing seeds no more than 2 cm deep.
  • After sowing with seeds, cover the boxes with foil and place in a warm place, where the temperature regime will be observed within + 22C.
  • After seed germination, remove the film, and lower the temperature for a week to + 15- + 17C, then set the previous mode again.
  • Start picking when two leaves appear. Dive into separate cups or peat pots. The latter are convenient in that during the growth period, abundant additional feeding with mineral fertilizers is not required, and you can plant it in a greenhouse with a pot.
  • With the appearance of full-fledged bushes with formed flower brushes, the seedlings can be transplanted to the summer cottage.

Before planting seedlings, the garden must be prepared: loosen the soil well and make holes of at least 30 cm. Lightly compact the earth and water abundantly.

Note! Bogatyr tomatoes are not particularly prone to disease. But for prevention, you can periodically spray with special products that are sold in stores for summer residents.
