Among the huge variety of tomatoes, summer residents most often prefer early varieties and varieties that are undemanding to care. The My Love tomatoes combine these desirable characteristics.

Appetizing red tomatoes with an elongated tip attract attention not only for their appearance, but also for their high taste and strong tomato aroma. Due to such high commercial qualities, Lyubov tomatoes are very popular among farmers in the southern regions of Russia.

From the history

The tomato variety My Love was obtained by domestic breeders a little over 10 years ago. Already in 2008, the variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements. For agricultural producers from Astrakhan, Kuban, Crimea and the Caucasus, this tomato is recommended for growing in the open field, and for vegetable growers in the Volga region, the Urals and the northern regions of the Russian Federation - as a greenhouse crop.

Tomato My love characteristics and description of the variety

Tomatoes of an early-ripening variety My Love ripen already 85-93 days after germination. The height of plants in open ground rarely exceeds 0.7-0.8 m, in greenhouses - 1.1-1.2 m. This tomato is classified as a determinant variety. That is, the apical growth of the main stem is limited. The plant stops growing upward immediately after the formation of the flower cluster. At the same time, lateral shoots begin to grow actively. Therefore, the bush becomes like a miniature tree. Tomato leaves little love. The trunk of a tomato bush is strong and massive, easily holds branches with fruits and does not need a garter.

Tomato my love

The early variety My Love forms simple inflorescences from which round, slightly ribbed, dense fruits develop. The average weight of a tomato is 150-200 g. The yield of one bush is 4.5-5 kg.

One of the varietal advantages of this tomato variety is its pronounced tomato flavor. The fruit pulp is dense, sugary. Ideal for preparing fresh salads and tomato purees.

Attention! Few fruit clusters are formed, usually no more than five. The ripening of fruits can be stimulated by timely pinching of the bushes. You should pinch the stepsons only after their size reaches 6-7 cm. In this case, you need to leave a stump of about 0.4-0.6 cm. Thanks to this technique, new side shoots will no longer form here.

Agricultural technology of cultivation

In order to successfully cultivate the tomatoes of Love, you need to take care of purchasing seeds in advance. Even experienced gardeners cannot independently obtain seeds of this variety, since it is a hybrid (F1).

Varietal seeds can be easily found by anyone in specialized stores. You can also do this on the Internet. Seed material is produced and distributed by the agrofirms "Aelita-agro" and "Myazina LA". A bag of seeds (0.1-0.3 g) costs 24-30 rubles.

Important! Seed germination of the variety is 95-100%.

Growing seedlings

Seeds for seedlings should be sown in the second decade of March. Before planting in the ground, it is advisable to soak them in a growth activator. Highly effective biostimulants are best suited for this role. The correct use of drugs has a beneficial effect not only on the process of seed germination, but also contributes to an increase in crop yield and resistance to phyto-diseases.

The drug "Elin" belongs to such universal non-toxic agents. It increases the germination of tomato seeds by 15-21%, reduces the content of dangerous nitrates in them. In order to soak the seeds, take only 3 drops of the substance and dilute them in 100 g of water. Plants of the variety My Love are picked at the phase of the second true leaf.

Note! Elin's solution is good for strengthening seedlings when transplanted into a greenhouse. For this, a solution is prepared from one ampoule of the drug and 5 liters of water. Freshly transplanted seedlings are watered at the root.

Transplanting seedlings into the ground

Seedlings of early varieties should be hardened for 14-10 days before being transplanted into the greenhouse. The recommended transplant dates are the first half of May.

For the successful growth of tomatoes, highly fertile soil can become a real formula of Love according to the characteristics and description of the variety. You can also increase the yield if you plant the plants at a distance of at least 0.4-0.45 m between the bushes.

Planting tomato seedlings in the ground

Daytime temperatures in greenhouses in the open sun can rise to + 35 + 40 ° C. From such conditions, young plants can quickly wither. Therefore, the greenhouse should be shaded during the daytime. In addition, during this period, tomatoes are extremely demanding for watering, to ensure soil respiration of the root system, the earth layer should be loosened at least once every 2-3 days.

On a note. Tomatoes My Love respond well to potash and phosphorus fertilizers.

The variety tolerates a lack of moisture well, therefore it does not require additional watering during fruiting.

disadvantages

There are few disadvantages of this variety of tomatoes. Among them:

  1. The seeds of the hybrid variety will have to be purchased annually, since the seeds obtained from the first harvest will be sterile;
  2. Varietal yield is not large enough, it is only 10-13 kg per 1 m² of area;
  3. The variety is demanding for frequent fertilizing with complex fertilizers.

However, such disadvantages are minor. Any gardener can handle them without much difficulty. All efforts will be rewarded with joy when the first deep red tomatoes appear on the bushes, attractive in shape and delicate in taste.
