Tomatoes are both popular and demanding for the growing conditions of the garden crop - those who want to feast on vitamin juicy tomatoes will have a lot of work to grow. However, there is such a variety of tomatoes that even the laziest summer resident will not have trouble with, he is called, respectively, - Lazy.

Lazytom tomatoes are the brainchild of Siberian breeders who bred this variety quite recently - about 6-7 years ago (2010-11), we can say that approbation tests are still being carried out in the gardens of the whole country, especially in its cold regions where tomatoes are enough to grow difficult. This hybrid variety with a "Siberian character" is very unpretentious in care and conditions and is suitable for growing even by the most inept and careless gardeners and farmers.

Characteristics and features of the variety

Tomatoes variety Lazyayka ripen very quickly - from the time the first leaves are pecked to the readiness of the first tomatoes, it takes on average up to a hundred days. Thanks to Siberian hardening, the variety easily tolerates frost and is resistant to temperature extremes.

The bushes begin to bloom with proper care 2.5 months after planting, the inflorescences are pale yellow with a bright yellow middle. Being a representative of the Aaslenov family, the Lazy-eyed self-pollinates, however, bees can sometimes help form additional ovaries.

Bushes of this type of tomato are considered determinants, i.e. have limited growth opportunities - it stops as soon as a brush is formed with fruits in its upper part. They usually do not exceed 60 centimeters.

Tomato Lazy is quite compact: being a standard tomato, it forms no more than 6 inflorescences on one strong, straight up stem. Due to these properties, this variety is preferred by owners of modest vegetable gardens, as well as small greenhouses and greenhouses. The top does not bear fruit, and therefore is removed as unnecessary (pushed). The foliage has the usual dark green color for tomatoes.

The yield of the variety is increased - each tomato bush gives on average up to six kilograms of tomatoes, and from sq. meters can be collected up to 15 kilograms.

Tomato, completely ready to harvest, has a heart-like shape, its skin is smooth, bright red or crimson-red. The fruits are large, each of them weighs three hundred grams (there are also "champions" for half a kilo).

The Lazy Tomato has a very tasty, slightly sour aftertaste, medium-dense juicy and tender pulp. With early harvest, the skin of the fruit is still green, however, they ripen easily and quickly and acquire the color they should be.

Additional Information. Since the variety is hybrid, no seed chambers are formed in these tomatoes, but there are 4-5 partitions.

Lazy-eyed tomatoes reach technical maturity three months after pecking, after harvesting they can be stored for a long time without losing their nutritional properties and appearance. Tomatoes of this type can be used both fresh and dried, as well as as part of various preparations, first of all, tomato paste, which tastes great.

Features of agricultural cultivation

Tomato variety Lazyanka has in its description unpretentiousness to growing conditions, but it will not bear fruit well on every land, - this tomato prefers acidic soils (medium level) with good fertilization. The ground should be fairly loose. It is advisable to plant the Lazy Woman in the beds that used to be occupied by:

  • carrot;
  • onion;
  • cucumbers;
  • White cabbage;
  • beans or peas.

Note! If Solanaceous crops such as potatoes or peppers grew in the place where tomatoes are supposed to be planted earlier, a good harvest should not be expected, because they select all the substances necessary for tomatoes from the soil, and can also contribute to the disease of tomato bushes (they have the same disease), so it is recommended to wait a couple of years before planting.

The main way of growing tomatoes of this variety is to plant sprouted seedlings in a garden or greenhouse. Its distillation begins in mid-March, about a month and a half before being placed on the beds.

Experts recommend additionally selecting the best seeds for seedlings and pre-sowing treatment:

  • check seed material for germination by immersing it in a container with water; those that appear on the surface, as well as small and outwardly damaged specimens should be discarded;
  • seeds allowed for planting are left in a light pink solution of potassium permanganate for a quarter of an hour, after which they are cleaned with plain warm water;
  • for half a day, you can soak the seed in a fertilizer diluted in water or a growth stimulator.

These simple manipulations help to achieve total germination, as well as make plants much less susceptible to diseases.

The soil for accepting seeds for seedlings also needs to be prepared: along with the first digging of the beds, a layer of humus, river sand or wood ash is introduced. You can also use mineral fertilizers.

Mineral fertilizers

The seeds sink into the soil by one and a half centimeters, if you make the depth less or more, this is fraught with poor germination. The recommended temperature regime for early germination is from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, after the first shoots have hatched, it should be reduced to 16 degrees in the daytime and to 12-14 degrees at night.

Important! In order for the seedlings to transfer movement into open ground as easily as possible, they should be hardened: put in a cool place at night (for example, an open balcony), while the temperature should not be lower than +10 degrees. To limit the premature stretching of young plants, it is recommended to first cover the planting containers with polyethylene.

Since the Lazy Tomato is a low and compact variety, up to 5-6 tomato bushes can be freely planted on one square meter. Before planting seedlings, it is necessary to insert stakes to support branches with abundant heavy fruits, if you do this later, the delicate roots of the plants may be damaged.

After transplanting into the prepared holes, the roots are covered with earth, watered with water, as well as a solution of a special agent "Kornevin" for better growth of the root system, prepared strictly according to the instructions.

Before harvesting, it is necessary to feed the bushes with organic fertilizers a couple of times: chemical or urea solution (in the ratio of 1 tablespoon to a 10-liter bucket of water), while the second procedure should be carried out during the flowering of the bushes.

Another necessary procedure in the process of growing tomatoes "Lazy" is the picking of seedlings, which is carried out after the release of the first pair of true leaves, at the same time the rejection of weak and non-viable seedlings is performed.

As for watering, the first ten days after planting, you do not have to worry about this, because at this time the need for moisture is low. After the final rooting of tomato seedlings, you can water the plants once every seven days, increasing up to twice in hot weather. This type of tomato is very unpretentious to watering, which won the love of summer residents.

In addition, the Lazy Woman is very resistant against diseases such as late blight and mycosporosis. However, the enemies of the variety are bears and slugs, which eat already grown stems, foliage and ripening fruits.

When growing tomatoes in greenhouses (greenhouses), there may be frequent infection with fungal diseases that develop from dampness. As a preventive measure, it is necessary to ventilate the covered beds with tomatoes more often.

Airing greenhouses.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

For the Lazy Tomato, the characteristic and description of the peculiarities of the variety would be incomplete without mentioning the positive and negative qualities of these tomatoes.

The advantages are:

  • the size of each ripe fruit is above average;
  • increased taste, excellent presentation, which lasts a long time (keeping quality is above average);
  • immunity to low temperatures;
  • the possibility of premature harvesting with subsequent ripening;
  • resistance to most diseases;
  • increased productivity;
  • you don't have to work on forming a bush;
  • tomatoes are formed from all ovaries at the same time.

With such an extensive list of advantages, the Lazy Woman has a number of disadvantages:

  • heat and dry weather are the main enemies of a good yield of such tomatoes;
  • stakes are needed to support the branches during the formation of heavy fruits;
  • it will not grow and bear fruit on unsuitable soils;
  • since the variety is hybrid, it will not work to get seeds for planting next year, you will have to buy them again in the store.

With all the variety of tomato varieties, Lazyka stands out for its unpretentiousness to growing conditions and cultivation and high productivity. This Siberian breeding hybrid, despite its small age, has already earned popularity among tomato lovers.
