The development institute recommended "Black Pearl" for breeding in the Central Black Earth, Siberian and Volga regions of Russia, as well as in the North Caucasus, i.e. this variety is not only a southern "inhabitant" of gardens.

The skin is dense, has a thick shiny black color, so suitable to the name of this variety, and inside there are several large grains seeds. The length of the brush with fruits is 5-7 centimeters. Ripe berries are characterized by the possibility of dry separation, which ensures the use of mechanical collection, easy transportation, long-term storage in a marketable state, as well as the ability to freeze.

The taste of currant Pearl is sweet, with a predominance of sourness due to the high content of ascorbic acid (the content of vitamin C in 100 grams of fruit is 133 mg). Also vitamin berries are rich in pectin (1.6% by volume) and fruit sugars (9%) and organic acid compounds (3.6%).Due to the large volume of acid, the black currant of this variety remains usable for a long time, as well as for the preparation of jam, marmalade, jam, jelly, wine drinks, confectionery desserts and blanks. In addition, blackcurrant leaves are also used for canning vegetables and making medicinal teas.

To combat them, it is necessary to dig the space between the bush, pour it with a solution of potassium permanganate, and add wood ash with mustard to the ground. Special chemicals will also help, but they can only be used before flowering begins.

This variety can be sick with powdery mildew (branches and foliage are covered with a white, “powdery” bloom) and other fungal plant diseases. They are cured with a solution of copper sulfate, infusion of mullein or hay dust (ratio 1: 3) and proper, accurate care of the bushes.
