Cherry as a garden tree appeared in Russia approximately at the time when the state was ruled by Yuri Dolgoruky. And now almost every garden has several cherry trees, because this is one of the most delicious, aromatic and healthy berries.

Cherry Nadezhda appeared thanks to the specialists of the experimental station of the city of Rossosh. In 1995, the culture passed a quality test in the Central Black Earth Region.

Characteristics and description of the cherry variety Nadezhda

The fruit tree is quite large, the trunk height reaches six meters. The crown is beautiful, dense, pyramidal in shape, refers to medium-leaved. The shape of the leaves is oval, with a leathery plate. Cherry blooms in large snow-white flowers, collected in a cluster of inflorescences.
Bark with a characteristic dark gray to black color, with individual cracks on the trunk.

This cherry variety has rather narrow lentils, which come in both large and small sizes.

The fruits themselves are large, have a rich dark red pulp with red juice.
The cherry tastes sweet, with a slight sourness. Fruit weight is from 5.5 to 6g on average. The cherry has a radius of about 2 - 2.4 cm.

It is for this variety that excellent fertility is characteristic. The tree begins to bear fruit as early as 4-5 years, from each you can collect up to 16 kg of berries.

On a note! The main poles of this variety include good frost resistance, only severe frost from -32 degrees is dangerous.

Resistant to many cherry diseases. It is considered early maturing.

Cherry duke Nadezhda belongs to partially self-fertile, is a hybrid of cherry and sweet cherry. Such varieties were bred specifically as winter-hardy. Moreover, the hybrids combine the best qualities from both varieties of trees. For Nadezhda, pollinators are planted on the site. When planting dykes in a summer cottage, the seedlings should be surrounded by zoned trees.
The varieties are well suited: large Black, Kent, Lada.

The seedling of this cherry can be either one-year or two-year. The height of the seedling should be no more than 1.2m. It is the young seedling that will take root better.

Important! When choosing a seedling, you should pay attention to the roots. They must be flexible and not break when bent.

Planting and leaving

For planting cherries, Nadezhda is better suited to an elevated site. Groundwater is bad for wood. The soil for the crop is light and loamy.

Dukes should be planted with care. The soil is required to be neutral, if the acidity is increased, it is reduced, for example, by adding lime. Heavy clay soil is lightened with sand. Excess fertilizer is harmful, it will have a bad effect on the winter hardiness of the plant. Fertilize poor soil with compost and mulching.

Important! The root collar should be at ground level when planting.

Dukes do not require excessive watering. When planting a seedling, as a rule, two buckets of water are poured out, then the root system develops quite well and the tree no longer needs frequent watering. It is enough to add water to the trunk circle 3 times per season.

The advantages of the variety include the fact that hybrids do not require special care, they tolerate changes in air temperature well. No specific varietal deficiencies were noted, with the exception of high tree growth, which can make harvest difficult. Therefore, the tree needs proper pruning and crown shaping.
