There is far from one way of planting potatoes in the ground, but it is the Meatlider technique that is considered by many experts to be the most effective. Despite the fact that such a planting process is quite laborious and not the easiest to perform, many gardeners use it in practice.

Method description

Dr. Meatlider has developed a special way of growing not only potatoes, but also a number of other crops. Its main purpose is to create optimal conditions for harvesting a good harvest from a small area. But to get really a lot of potatoes, the technique must be followed in the smallest detail. Even the most insignificant, at first glance, mistake can lead to the fact that all efforts will be wasted. We are talking about the following significant points:

  • loosening of the soil during the entire vegetative period is not performed - digging is necessary only once;
  • it is not allowed to interchange the aisles and beds;
  • fertilization of the culture is allowed exclusively with mineral fertilizing;
  • an important condition is regular watering of potatoes (cultivation according to the Mitlider method must be abandoned if the water supply system is not well equipped;
  • the lighting of the site should be ideal (in the shade, the yield will significantly decrease);
  • the beds should not be on slopes - they must be located horizontally;
  • the soil should in no case be stony or depleted.

Important! All of the above rules must be followed not only flawlessly, but also taking into account the climatic characteristics of the region. At the same time, the transition to planting potatoes along the Meatlider should not be abrupt. The number of beds should be increased gradually. The optimal number of ridges to start with is no more than five or six. Moreover, their length should not exceed 7-8 meters.

Before planting, the beds should be dug up in the most careful way, removing the roots of the weeds. Then the surface is leveled. The final formation of the beds is carried out only after the top dressing has been made, already directly on the day when planting is carried out.

Growing potatoes

The bed in which the potatoes are planted must be flat, therefore it is strongly recommended to use twine and pegs. A side should be provided along the perimeter. It shouldn't be too tall. The size of the beds and their parameters should be approximately as follows:

  • bed width - 45 cm;
  • bed length - 4-8 m;
  • row spacing - 0.7 m;
  • side height - 10 cm.

The beds and the aisles must be at the same height. If it is not possible to level the ground, you can divide the landing area into several more parts. In this case, each of the parts should be fenced off by means of sides.

You need to plant potato planting material in two rows, trying to keep the minimum distance to the edges of the garden.

Planting potatoes using the Meatlider method has several advantages:

  • there is no need to loosen the soil;
  • no hilling of the beds is required;
  • the area of the site for planting is saved;
  • the yield increases;
  • growing potatoes is possible on any soil and in any region, regardless of climatic features.

Among the disadvantages of growing potatoes using the Meatlider method, the following can be noted:

  • plots on slopes, in lowlands, with stagnant water and with peat are not suitable for planting;
  • a large amount of money is spent on the purchase of mineral fertilizers;
  • planting potatoes should be carried out exclusively in sunny places; in the shade, the culture will be saturated with nitrates.

Features of landing on Mitlider

It is possible to grow potatoes according to Meathlider from different varieties of culture, regardless of whether it belongs to early maturing or late species. The system requires only one thing: you need to plant only selected material. The weight of the tubers should be about 50 grams. They must be clean, free of disease markers and signs of mechanical damage.

Note. Before planting, the tubers are recommended to be planted in a box, the drawing of which can be easily found on the Internet. Pre-growing seedlings at home is necessary because transplanting young shoots at the very beginning of the growing season stimulates their growth. Accordingly, it will be possible to start digging up root crops at the end of the season a little earlier.

Before planting potatoes, the soil should be approved with a special composition invented by Dr. Mitlider and containing only two main components: borax - 152 g and nitrophoska - 450 g.

The potatoes are planted in two rows. The distance between the holes should be about 30 centimeters. The depth of the hole is 10 centimeters. In order to successfully grow a crop, feeding must be done three times:

  • before seedlings appeared;
  • after the seedlings have grown to 15 centimeters;
  • before flowering.

The scheme and calculation of feeding were at one time developed by Dr. Mitlider himself. He believes that 250 grams of mineral fertilizers should be applied to each garden bed, which are prepared in the following proportions:

  1. lime (optionally, dolomite) - 450 g;
  2. boron - 15 g;
  3. molybdenum compounds - 15 g;
  4. urea - 1000 g;
  5. ammophos - 600 g;
  6. chloride sulfate (optionally potassium) - 1000 g;
  7. magnesium sulfate - 450 g.

The main point of the Meatlider technique is that since the potato root system is collected exclusively in the upper soil layer, it is not easy for the plant to obtain the necessary nutrients. And the task of the gardener is to help the culture in this matter. It is no coincidence that molybdenum is used in the preparation of nutritional mixtures, which serves as a kind of conductor between nutrients and potatoes.

Important! When buying fertilizers in stores, you should carefully monitor that their composition fully complies with the recommendations of Meatlider. Otherwise, the desired result will not be achieved.

After fertilization, the soil requires abundant watering. This is especially important during the period of budding and flowering culture. If the soil is sandy and dries quickly, straw can be used as mulch. Additionally, it is allowed to use drugs designed to combat the Colorado potato beetle. Treatment of plants from this harmful insect must also be done three times. But from late blight, it is enough to do preventive treatment only twice.

About two weeks before harvesting begins, all the tops must be cut. This activates the ripening process of root crops. In the process of digging up potatoes, it is very important not to harm the tubers. In this regard, it is highly recommended to keep the shovel somewhat away from the bushes.

For reference. Planting potatoes using the Meatlider method allows you to harvest half a ton of potatoes from 10 square meters of planting. For comparison: with a standard fit, the indicated indicator extremely rarely exceeds the bar of 200 kg.

The description of growing a potato crop according to the Meatlider method clearly demonstrates the fact that this procedure clearly does not apply to the lungs. But since the harvest that can be harvested at the end of the season will pleasantly delight the gardener with its abundance, the process is clearly worth the effort.

The most important thing is to immediately understand that the described technique does not accept any changes and must be followed exactly.If you are a fan of experimenting and cannot follow the regulated recipes and technologies, it is better not to take risks and plant the potatoes in the traditional way. The harvest in this case will be, albeit not magical, but quite worthy.
