Note! The hybrid has a special designation - F1.

The cucumber is a gherkin type. Fruits are medium tuberosity, 12 cm long, but can be harvested in smaller sizes. The fruits are cylindrical in shape. The average weight of a cucumber is 75-90 gr. From one square. m. harvested for the whole season up to 15 kg of fruit.

This type of cucumber does not stop even with an unstable harvest.

Cucumber Prestige

The advantages of the variety:

  • high productivity;
  • resistance to temperature extremes;
  • transportability;
  • long preservation of the presentation;
  • universality of use;
  • great taste, no bitterness.

Disadvantages:

  • the skin is covered with sharp thorns;
  • a tendency to diseases infected from soil and other plants (downy mildew, powdery mildew, gray rot).

Growing features

In early April, you can sow seeds for seedlings in separate containers. The first shoots will appear in 5-6 days. Cucumbers Prestige in open ground are planted in mid-May. It is recommended to set aside a plot for a cucumber plot where they grew:

Autumn site preparation

you need to allocate a site

  • tomatoes;
  • peppers;
  • cabbage;
  • salad.

The plant is unpretentious to the composition of the soil, but if the soil is acidic, it must be limed.

The seedlings are planted at a distance of 30 cm from each other, in the holes, where the plant is simply transferred from the glass along with the earth. It is necessary to water the hole well with water and sprinkle it with earth.

It is necessary to sow seeds in open ground in mid-May, when the ground is warm enough and the threat of spring frosts has passed. They are pre-soaked in water for 7-8 hours to facilitate germination.

Important! The grains are buried 3 cm in the soil. If they are planted deeper, they may not ascend.

Plant care includes weeding, loosening the soil, watering.

You need to water it with warm water in the evening, spending about 4 liters per square meter. m. On cool and cloudy days, you need to reduce watering, waterlogging of the soil provokes the development of diseases. During flowering and fruiting, watering is increased to 10 liters per square meter. m. If you add a couple of pinches of wood ash to the water (10 l), such watering will strengthen the immunity of plants.

After about 15 days after germination, the gherkin Prestige f1 cucumber must be fertilized. You can use mineral or organic fertilizers, apply no more than 1 time per week.

Note! Although fertilization enhances fruiting, if you overdo it with feeding, this will lead to the fall of the ovary.

Fertilizer is diluted in water and applied in 0.5 liters for each bush. The first feeding should be done at the beginning of flowering. To do this, you need to prepare a nutritional mixture:

  • 10 l. water;
  • 1 tsp urea, potassium sulfate, superphosphate;
  • 200 gr. mushy mullein.

During the fruiting period, a different composition is used:

  • 10 l. water;
  • 1 tbsp. l. nitrophosphate;
  • 200 gr. mushy chicken droppings.

After 42-45 days from planting the seeds, the first crop can be harvested.

Planting from aphids and spider mites can be sprayed with an aqueous solution of laundry soap (300 g per 10 liters of water). All spraying should be done in the evening, in dry weather.

This type of cucumber must be formed into one stem for better fruiting.

Important! All yellowed leaves must also be removed so that they do not cause plant diseases.

It is recommended to use a support to improve fruiting and easy harvesting.
