Chicken manure is considered the most valuable organic fertilizer. It not only enhances biological processes in the soil, but is also able to saturate the plant with valuable carbon dioxide. Correct and careful application will guarantee that the plant will grow faster.

Fertilization benefits

According to agronomists, poultry manure is not inferior to expensive fertilizers in terms of nutrient content. And in some cases it even surpasses. Due to its organic form, it is able to stay in the soil for much longer than synthetic additives, and not to wash out, and also quickly reach the roots of the culture. It is important that this kind of fertilizer does not create a high concentration of salts.

Among the positive properties of chicken manure are:

  • lack of toxins;
  • useful properties persist for two years (while in the soil);
  • practicality. It is an excellent fertilizer for almost all crops;
  • has a beneficial effect on the soil;
  • accelerates the ripening process of the crop;
  • restores microflora;
  • easy to use;
  • fights pests.

Why is chicken manure useful for tomatoes?

Tomatoes are considered to be a demanding crop. In order to get a good harvest, it is worth treating its fertilization with special attention. The plant needs a sufficient amount of nitrogen. But the appearance of tasteless and deformed fruits is a consequence of an excess of nitrogen. To get a good harvest, the crop should be fertilized correctly and in a timely manner.

Important! Tomatoes that have been planted in fresh bird manure are distinguished by long stems and leaves. But this negatively affects the development of fruits. They are tied late or not tied at all.

The roots and leaves of tomatoes are severely burned in the sun, and are also subject to diseases of various origins. It is better to use chicken manure for tomatoes not fresh, but one that has managed to overturn at least a couple of times.

It is worth remembering that manure helps to reduce the acidity level in the soil by filling it with the necessary amount of magnesium and calcium. The following types of manure are used as a top dressing for tomatoes:

  • horse;
  • goat;
  • pork;
  • sheep's;
  • bovine;
  • chicken;
  • rabbit.

To harvest a decent harvest, you need to be careful about both planting seedlings and fertilizing them. You can feed the culture within a couple of weeks after transplanting into a greenhouse or garden. The fertilization procedure does not take much time and effort, and the result will not be long in coming. The fruits of the culture will have a bright healthy color, and most importantly - a rich and excellent taste.

How to feed tomatoes with chicken droppings

Having thought of fertilizing a crop, it is worth remembering that fresh droppings can harm the plant due to its toxic properties. It must be diluted with other additives or plain water.

Both experienced gardeners and beginners should know how to fertilize tomatoes with chicken droppings. After all, an incorrectly fertilized crop will not only not bring the desired harvest, but it may even die. To avoid such an ending, it is worth preparing the fertilizer correctly.

How to properly breed chicken manure for feeding tomatoes

There are two types of fertilizer based on chicken manure.

Liquid top dressing. Litter should be diluted with water in proportions of 1:50, or even better 1: 100.It is better to water the culture with a diluted solution a couple of weeks after planting.

Without your own chickens, you can use commercially available granular droppings, which are sold in specialized stores, to prepare liquid groundbait. It is best to breed chicken manure for feeding this kind of tomatoes with warm water in a wooden barrel 1: 1, then leave the mixture to ferment for a couple of weeks. After this period, the resulting groundbait for tomatoes must be diluted 1:20 with water. For watering one crop, half a liter of diluted fertilizer is enough.

Liquid dressing is most often used to fertilize crops that grow in open ground. For irrigation of 1 square meter, 5 liters of fertilizing are required. You need to act as follows:

  • take the required amount of already prepared compost and place it in a bucket;
  • Fill the bucket to the very brim with water, and then mix well;
  • pour the resulting solution into a watering can;
  • water the tomatoes so that the liquid does not fall on the stem of the plant;
  • water the plants well with a hose in order to wash off the bait that has fallen from the leaves of the plant;
  • the remaining top dressing can be watered on fruit trees or shrubs.

Important! The prepared diluted groundbait can be used within three days, but only if its temperature does not exceed 20 degrees.

Compost. For its preparation, already rotted droppings are used, which are placed in pits immediately before planting tomato seedlings. This procedure is usually performed in the fall. To enhance the effect of fertilization, a layer of peat is laid under it. Then everything is covered with dry hay. This will help protect the entire bed from unpleasant odors and speed up the process of dropping decay. The pus layer should be no more than 20 cm thick, and the peat layer should be no more than 30 cm thick.

Dry, granular droppings. Drying is considered the best way to process manure. The physical properties of the fertilizer can be improved by drying. Dry groundbait can be poured directly into the holes. It is better to store such bait in open boxes.

Granular dressing is often used to fertilize crops grown in a greenhouse. Advantages of this type of fertilizer:

  • helps to avoid drying out of the soil in case of lack of moisture;
  • granules do not have a specific odor;
  • dry top dressing will help to increase the yield percentage at least twice;
  • Unlike other species, granulated chicken manure retains its properties throughout storage.

Fertilizers, which are based on the waste product of chickens, are invariably loved by gardeners. A similar tool is readily available, it gives an excellent effect when growing tomatoes. Its use will guarantee that the fruits will reach impressive sizes, and will also acquire great taste.

Chicken manure contains all the necessary substances for both growth and fruit formation. Among the most valuable components are:

  • 2% nitrogen;
  • 2% potassium;
  • 2% calcium;
  • 1% phosphorus.

Important! Using chicken droppings as bait, you need to monitor the condition of the tomato bushes. If its use leads to the fact that the bushes begin to greatly increase the mass (stems, leaves become very thick), the fertilization process should be stopped.

In such a case, there will be no benefit to the crop, this will lead to low productivity. It will be possible to resume the baiting process after a couple of weeks.
