The growing bushes close tightly, leaving no chance for weeds. The stems retain moisture well, which is great for dry areas and hot summers.

The variety is considered to be medium late in terms of ripening. From the emergence of seedlings to the moment of readiness for use, a period of 100-120 days passes, depending on weather conditions and the type of soil. Lasunok potatoes are considered a mid-season variety.

Growing features

This potato variety depends on the type of soil; a better and sweeter yield of Lasunok potatoes can be obtained on sandy soil. The root crop begins to germinate at a temperature of + 5 ° C.

Landing Lasunka

It is recommended to plant already sprouted root crops in the soil in April-May, but the planting dates may shift, depending on the region and the level of soil warming.

Tubers are planted on a flat surface, in holes no more than 10 cm deep on sandy loam soil and 5-7 cm on loam. Before lowering the tuber, a glass of wood ash or half a liter of humus is poured into the hole.

If planting is carried out using technology, then the entire soil is pre-fertilized with ash or humus.

On a note. It is not advisable to plant potatoes in the same place for several years in a row, as the yield decreases. It is better to alternate planting with watercress (once every 3-4 years), which will serve as fertilizing the soil after plowing the field.

The peculiarity of the variety is that its root system more than others needs access to fresh air, therefore, it is necessary to loosen the soil often and already a week after planting root crops in the ground.

After the bushes grow 10-12 cm, the first hilling is required, 13-15 cm deep (on light soil) and 10-12 cm (on heavy soil). It is recommended to feed the bushes with mullein or nitrogen, potash fertilizers.

Important! It is not recommended to water the first few days after planting potatoes, as the root system is forming. During the growing period, there should be no more than 3 irrigations. Irrigation takes place during flowering or during long-lasting dry periods.

Harvesting falls at the end of August or the beginning of September, if the summer was rainy, it is carried out both by technique and by hand.It is better to store root crops in wooden boxes, after drying them in the sun and fresh air. Humidity for storing Lasunok potatoes - no more than 80% and no less than 70%, room temperature - +2 ° С.

On a note. To prevent the appearance of a wireworm on the crop, before planting tubers on the site, it is recommended to set traps: instill plastic bottles or glasses with potato peels into the soil. After 3 days, many larvae can be found in them. The procedure can be performed several times before planting.
