Many growers who grow rose bushes on their plots seek to improve the rose garden by periodically buying new varieties. At present, there is such an abundance of varieties of the "queen of flowers" of various beauty that it is difficult to choose any particular varieties.

This article will talk about the Samba floribunda rose - a profusely flowering shrub with two-color petals.

The history of the creation of the Samba variety

The first variety, belonging to the floribunda species, was bred by the Danish breeder Svend Poulsen at the beginning of the last century. When breeding, the following roses were crossed:

  • tea room,
  • musky,
  • polyant.

As a result, new roses received from their “parents” such positive qualities as strong immunity, high resistance to diseases, strong shoots. The main advantage of the new perennials is the long, abundant flowering. For this quality, all such spray roses were combined into one group, called floribunda - blooming profusely.

Rose Samba

Rose Sambo Party Floribunda is one of the most beautiful in this group. This variety was bred in a German nursery, headed by the famous breeder Kordes. There is no data on which varieties of these flowers were used to breed the Samba Pati rose. One can only assume that the Samba rose has a lot in common with the similar variety Rumba. The main difference between these roses is the larger flowers of the Samba, collected in small clusters. Common to these two varieties is the bicolor color of the buds - yellow petals with reddish edging of their edges.

Note! The color of the flowers may darken or lighten depending on changes in weather conditions.

Rose floribunda Samba: description

The shrub is very compact, erect shoots, reach 0.8-0.9 m in height, and the diameter of the bush itself is no more than 0.55-0.6 m. The foliage is ovoid, slightly elongated, with sharp tips and a characteristic glossy shine ... The color of the leaf plates is dark emerald.

The Samba rose blooms almost all summer. The blossoming bud is very beautiful - the bright yellow petals of the flower have a scarlet edging along the edges. Dissolving, the bud becomes a bright scarlet color, with yellow veins. The diameter of a fully blossoming bud is 7.5-8.5 cm.

Rose Samba blooms all summer

Rose Sambo is highly resistant to powdery mildew and black spot.

Also, this perennial is characterized by high resistance to frost and the rainy season. Even in the sun, the petals do not lose their color, but only become darker.

Interesting! Florists actively use this variety for cutting, since shoots with flowers can stand in water for up to two weeks.

Agricultural technology of cultivation

Seedlings are sent with a closed root system, so there are no problems with planting and further acclimatization in the bushes.

Since the variety is unpretentious to the conditions of planting, as well as to further care, usually flower growers do not spend much time on the basic agrotechnical measures associated with caring for this perennial.

To obtain abundant flowering, it is enough:

  • plant bushes in well-lit places, without drafts;
  • water the plant weekly with warm, settled water (8-10 l);
  • 5-6 times during the growing season, apply top dressing: first feed with mullein, second with urea, third and fourth with mineral fertilizers (potassium, phosphorus, magnesium), fifth with ash solution.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

The main advantages of this perennial shrub include:

  • abundant long flowering;
  • high resistance to major diseases;
  • frost resistance - above average.

There is only one drawback - a complete lack of aroma.

Rose Sambo Party Floribunda will decorate any garden with its lush, bright colors. The small height of the bushes also allows you to grow this variety in flowerpots and pots, which can be used to decorate a veranda or porch.
